The Compass Group is a private equity firm that specializes in investments in middle market companies. The firm seeks to provide finance to entrepreneurial and financial owners of companies, as well as large corporations seeking to divest non-core operations. It invests in a broad range of industries including growing segments of the service, distribution, and manufacturing sectors. The firm invests primarily in companies that are based in North America. It seeks to make equity investments between $50 million and $250 million per transaction in companies with typical cash flow between $10 million and $40 million. The firm typically invests alongside management and occasionally with other equity groups and pursues a variety of non-control investments. The Compass Group LLC was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Westport, Connecticut with an additional office in Irvine, California.
